For the first time ever, ZombiCon (taking place Downtown Ft Myers, FL, the weekend of 
October 19th, 20th and 21st) will feature a full-blown convention at Harborside Event Center. In years past, ZombiCon has just been a Saturday Night Street Festival. But this year, during the day Saturday and Sunday, ZombiCon will feature vendors, artists, performances, special appearances by cast from DAY of the DEAD, THE WALKING DEAD, FACE OFF, GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL, as well as renown Lucasfilm artists, award-winning authors, zombie makeup artists, the Star Wars 501st, special effects pros, and more! (Click here for event schedule) Although the Street Fest is FREE with canned food or blood donation, the convention is a ticketed event, raising money for Pushing DaiZies: Non Profit for the Arts. Other features of the wekend ticketed convention include a Kids Zone with fun activities, a Zombie-Kill Airsoft experience, a fully themed Space Lounge built inside Harborside, a judged Costume Contest with cash prizes, a Zombie Car Show, a Zombie Drag Queen Pageant, a Zombie-horde World Record Attempt, and more! What to expect at the free street fest:
Last year’s zombie horde topped 20,000 for the epic music fest on the streets of 
Downtown Fort Myers. Entrance to the party is FREE with canned food donation to Harry Chapin Food Bank, or blood donation to the Lee Memorial Blood Center. Featuring 4 stages of performances, live bands, and DJs, the event starts at 6pm and ends at 12am. Throughout the zombie evening, there will be vendors with merchandise, street food, and drinks all over downtown. Also available is the infamous ZombiCUP, available at the beer trucks and 18 participating establishments. This commemorative ZombiCon 2012 Souvenir cup will get you drink discounts at all participating restaurants and bars, as well as a dollar off each refill of beer or zombie drink at the Budweiser Shock Top beer trucks!
