ZombiCon is organized by “Pushing DaiZies, Inc.”, an official 501c3 non-profit to benefit the arts and local partner charities. In 2011, over 3,800 pounds of food were collected for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, breaking their donation record at a single night-time event (a record previously held by a previous ZombiCon). Also, 127 pints of blood were donated to the Lee Memorial Blood Center, breaking their donation record, as well.
Beyond continuing to break charity donation records, Pushing DaiZies has big plans for 2013. With the success of ZombiCon 2012, Pushing DaiZies intends to open a facility where children can learn different art crafts after school, on the weekends, and during summer. By putting together scholorship programs for families needing assistance, many kids who would otherwise be home alone, or on the streets getting into trouble will be able to focus their energy and creativity into something positive, and possibly learn an occupational craft like faux painting, makeup artistry, computer graphics, commercial art, or photography.
Please help Pushing DaiZies achieve these goals and continue to inspire the community through art and charitable deeds. Every donation, volunteer or sponsorship helps!
